Little Ducklings

Sequoyah is great at letting everyone having a chance to hold the ducks. I was busy and just put the duck on my lap as I was working on something and she was not satisfied! The ducklings were cold, and she wanted ME to warm them up. Yes, I have two inside my shirt.

HAPPY OCTOBER

The kids...including Eric, LOVE to decorate for HALLOWEEN!!! We have carved pumpkins twice this year, and have one more round to go...we hope our pumpkins will hold out! It was FUN growing your own pumpkins, and reaping the reward.
This baby duck just hatched about an hour ago while we were at church...he is till wet.

This is Isaiah's favorite way to hold the ducks. Most of the time they will fall right to sleep!

Sequoyah is 4 years old!!!!

I love the way kids react to trick candles....they never loose the excitement of the light returning.
Can I open them yet?
Sequoyah LOVES this book...she would go to the library and know right where to find it every week! This is why we have a dog named DRAGON. Thanks grandma Tracey!!!
After Koya opened the princess she yells...hey this is just like me!!! She sure is our little princess!
I LOVE BOOKS, even if it is all about FANCY NANCEY...I love to read!!

Birthday Girl

Let me help you with this one!! We love to get packages.

Lonely

We are incubating some duck eggs for our neighbors. This was the first duck to hatch in this batch and he was alone for the first night. If you have been around ducks...then you know that when they are little and alone they can make a lot of noise/peeps trying to call you back to them. Needless to say we had to do something quick. So we found a stuffed eagle and put him in with the duck. It worked...we did not hear another peep the rest of the night. When the other ducks were hatched, they would all huddle around the eagle and go to sleep.

Time to PICK APPLES

APPLE ORCHARD

What do you get when you cut an apple in half..(the wrong way).. A STAR!! They gave a fun little class about the seasons of the apple trees, and how they grow.
Time for a hay ride! We had fun...and got to see a beautiful mountain view.
It is a must to taste before you pick...you have to know what you are getting is good!
As you can see, we all approved of the apples, especially Nona. When she finished the APPLES she would hand me the stem and say...finished!

Fall is in the air

Sequoyah had a school field trip to one of our all time favorite apple orchards...we had so much fun! The girls were set with their cowgirl boots, and Koya's favorite pants (the only ones she will wear) PINK SPARKLES.

Friends

Our duck that was rehabilitating went under our neighbors fence for the night. When I woke up, I found the duck and the buck (goat) right next to each other. They were pals...until the duck did not come home one night. We still cannot find him and it has been a week. I don't think that goats eat ducks....but something else around here does. NO it was not Dragon either!

Dragon VS. Pete's Dragon

This is what happens when our Dragon met Pete's Dragon. I had ordered this DVD for Tennille for her birthday. Needless to say it wasn't ready when they said it would be so it was back ordered. They then delivered it on a day that we weren't home or expecting a package. For some reason the UPS delivery guy thought that a DVD would not be able to fit between two doors with at least 6 inches between them. So he decided to leave the package on the porch...this is all just a theory because I didn't find the package (or what was left of it) until the next morning. Dragon had captured the DVD and hidden it until night came. When I woke up the next morning I saw some paper on the grass. I knew it couldn't be from the garbage so I investigated. Let's just say I was surprised! So now I am trying to get UPS to reimburse for the DVD. Hopefully they will...because common sense would tell ME not to leave a package in the open with a dog there. What do you think?

Rehab

Adonyah is helping rehabilitate this duck. Looks like he is really struggling doesn't he?

This was during our trip out West. This is Eric's mom and dad with our kids. We are at Kennecott mining. This is a tire that fits on the dumptrucks they use. Try fittin' those on your standard SUV!

Wet

We are getting some more rain from the storms moving up the East Coast. The wind was steady last night around 30-40 mph. We were surprised when we woke up that the power was still on and that no trees had fallen. Shoot....we even had all of the ducks accounted for. Sequoyah did manage to creep into our bed when the thunder was rolling. That's ok...she helped keep us warm.
